Assistant Financial Controller – External Reporting

Role summary:
We are seeking a high-performing and detail-oriented nearly or newly qualified Assistant Financial Controller – External Reporting to support and lead the preparation of external financial and regulatory reports across our Gibraltar and Malta operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to step into a broader position with increased ownership, developing expertise in financial reporting within the insurance industry, including exposure to Solvency II and IFRS frameworks.
Key responsibilities include:

Preparation and submission of financial statements and regulatory reports for Gibraltar and Malta entities, including both entity-level and consolidated accounts.

Own key components of quarterly and annual external reports for regulators, auditors, and tax authorities.

Preparation of Solvency II filings, including SFCR, and QRTs.

Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data used in regulatory filings and statutory reporting through review and validation.

Tax and regulatory filings, including Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) and corporate tax returns.

Support the implementation of new or updated reporting requirements and regulatory changes.

Collaborate with key stakeholders to support external audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit requests.

Work with internal stakeholders to document, maintain, and continuously improve financial reporting processes and procedures.

Provide guidance and support to junior team members where required.

Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
